In 1972 trials were held whether the A-7 could be operated out of the Swiss cavernes (mountain facilities). The location is unknown, but is probably Meiringen. Although these tests the Corsair to be suitable, in the end a batch of second hand Hunters were bought due to political turmoil. Pictures taken inside the caverne are quite rare as these are still a closely kept Swiss secret. Swiss air force photo This photo was added on 30 January 2024, and has since been viewed 243 times. |
