In 1972 trials were held whether the A-7 could be operated out of the Swiss cavernes (mountain facilities). The location is unknown, but is probably Meiringen. Although these tests the Corsair to be suitable, in the end a batch of second hand Hunters were bought due to political turmoil. Pictures taken inside the caverne are quite rare as these are still a closely kept Swiss secret. Swiss air force photo

Exercise Creek Corsair brought Corsairs of several units to Spangdahlem in the summer of 1988. On this day we saw six aircraft: two 174TFS/Iowa ANG, two 188TFS/New Mexico ANG, and two 166TFS/Ohio ANG.
