Unknown photographer- on back of photo 153165 LTV A-7A VA-147 NE-307 USS Ranger North Island NAS. No date. Other aircraft in this range delivered around 1967. Forgotten jets has no dates for VA-147 assignment. I think its @1967-68. It was with VA-122 as NJ-2xx in 1969 and W/O on 21 Jan 1969. VA-147 'Argonauts' was commissioned as the U.S. Navy's first A-7 Corsair II Squadron on 1 Feb 1967 at NAS Lemoore. The Sqn received its first A-7A on 28 Jun 1967. Deployed on CVW-2 USS Ranger in Dec 1967 to South East Asia. Currently designated VFA-147 operating the F-35C from NAS Lemoore, CA.
