On display at RAF Museum Hendon with split black/white undersides. This Hurricane was built by Gloster at Brockworth and entered RAF service on 19 Jan 1940. It was sent to France and flew sorties with 'A' Flight, No. 607 (County of Durham) Sqn. during the Battle of France. Transferred back to Croydon in May 1940, it flew in the Battle of Britain. It spent time thereafter with Training Command and suffered accidents and repairs. The Hurricane was identified for preservation in April 1944. It was used in films including "Battle of Britain," finally reaching RAF Hendon in May 1972. This photo is copyright © Arjun Sarup, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
