Founded in 2013 as successor to Air Malawi (active between 1963 and late 2012), Malawian Airlines is a joint venture between Ethiopian Airlines (holding a 49% share) and the Malawi Government, owing 51%. ET-AQB shown here was leased from Ethiopian between January 2014 and October 2023, the month it was replaced by a leased Ethiopian B737-700 (registered ET-AVP).
