Delivered on 21 November 1989 as FAC1158 to SATENA, it went to regular air force service in 2000 as FAC1258. On 8 February 2008, it was damaged when it left the runway in Nuqui, Choco province. The aircraft came to a stop in the bushes, with 16 journalists on board, which resulted in extensive media coverage. It went to Madrid for repair, received a left wing from an unknown "African" 212 and flew again in 2012.
