Two Boulton Paul Balliols survive in Sri Lanka in the excellent museum in Colombo-Ratmalana. First reported in the museum in September 1993, this is one of twelve Balliols operated from 1954 by the Royal Ceylon Air Force, the predecessor of today's Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF). Ceylon was the only export customer for this type of aircraft.

One of its projects was the construction of a single Pazmany PL-2 side-by-side trainer aircraft from a kit obtained from the USA. The aircraft resembles the Italian-built SF-260 used in large numbers by the SLAF. Its serial depicts it was used in an experimental role, rather than for training new pilots.
