Delivered to the USAF as C-121A 48-613 in 1949. Later converted to a VC-121B. To NASA as NASA 422 in 1966. Reregistered as N422NA in 1969. Preserved at the museum as 48-613 from 1970. Flew out from Fort Rucker as N422NA in 1993. To the Planes of Fame Air Museum, Valle, AZ in 1995. Flew to Chino, CA in 2016 for restoration. Flew again in 2023.
