This P-40 served with the USAAF as 41-13357 before being shipped to the USSR as part of the Lend Lease programme in Dec. 1941. Fortunately the hulk was recovered in the 1990s and has been superbly restored in the scheme of 39-159, a P-40C that was stripped of it's olive drab camouflage paint and used as a personal 'hack' for base commanders at Chanute Field, KS. It became G-CIIO in December 2014. This photo is copyright © Alastair T. Gardiner, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
