This AS 350B-2 was originally imported to Canada in 1980 as an AS 350D AStar powered by the Lycoming LTS101 and later converted to an Arriel 1B turboshaft and upgraded to wider chord AS355 rotor blades, and then further upgraded to an AS 350B-2. In 1986-1987 it was one of three AStars operated by Ranger Helicopters on the Air Canada helicopter service flying passengers between Toronto International Airport (YYZ) and the Cherry Street heliport near Toronto Harbour. Ranger became part of Maple Leaf Helicopters which was acquired by CHC subsidiary Canadian Helicopters in the late 1980s. This photo is copyright © Kenneth I.
