Of the 60 P-51s received by the AURI, around half a dozen are preserved. This 2-seater is painted to represent a Mustang which shot down a CIA-operated A-26 Invader off the island of Ambon in 1958 during the PPRI/Permesta conflict, in which Sumatran revolutionaries tried to gain independence. The real F-338 is displayed in Jakarta. This one is actually F-361 This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
