The AURI received six PBY-5s in 1951, but this is not one of them. In fact it was delivered to the USN as BuNo 46539, bought by Charlotte Aircraft Corp in 1954 and registered N1563M. It was stored in the open at Elizabeth City, NC till 1985. Rebuilt to airworthy status in private hands by 1990 but not flown, it was instead shipped to the Central Museum of the Indonesian AF (in exchange for the right to recover several Japanese aircraft wrecks).
