Airlink existed for only 15 weeks. It was launched amid great fanfare at Timaru in August 1989. Fog saw its inaugural service cancelled. A lack of patronage resulted in the airline closing in December and the aircraft was returned to its owner. ZK-FOP continued flying in Airlink's colours for several years.
