The Swedish Air Force pioneered the use of dispersed air strips on highways and byways in the Swedish forests and countryside. These bases were continually manned with a skeleton maintenance crew to keep them action ready. In case of war, the units would disperse to pre-assigned bases. This outside diorama shows a Viggen with a Jeep service unit and a GPU. A Volvo fuel truck would complete the line service units while in the field.
