A DC-6 familiar on the Southend scene around the time of this shot, first delivered to Sabena in 1953. This was Transpommair's first aircraft, acquired in March 1970 before the airline changed its name in May 1971. Three DC-8s followed before Pomair went out of business in 1974. The DC-6 finished its days with Air Gabon as TR-LTY, wfu by 1977 and later broken up. This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
