This former 184th TFS Super Sabre is technically still a F-100F although it is already painted in the QF-100 colors. The aircraft arrived at AMARC on 25 September 1979, received inventory code FE603, and is seen here when it was about to leave for Tracor Flight Systems Inc., Mojave (CA). With Tracor it was modified to QF-100F. It was later assigned to the 475th WEG at Tyndall AFB (FL). It's fate is unknown to me, but most probably the aircraft was shot down over the Gulf of Mexico This photo is copyright © Stephan de Bruijn, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
