The first 35 Tiger Moths for the RAF were powered by Gipsy III engines as the Tiger Moth I. They were followed by thousands of DH-82A Tiger Moth II which were powered by the more powerful Gipsy Major I. K2578 had a short service life and was stuck off charge in 1934.
