When Slovenia gained independence in 1991, this Yugoslav-built Gazelle became its first military aircraft when its pilot defected from Yugoslavia, where it had served from around 1979 as 12660. Initially serialled TO-001 with the Slovenian Territorial Defence, it was later registered SL-HAA then S5-HAA. It crashed in 1994 but was restored for static display at Ljubljana airport, then being moved to the Pika collection in 2012 This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
