Built as a Mk.2, AG837 was converted to a Mk.3 by the addition in the UK of a Boulton Paul four-gun dorsal turret. Following handling trials at the Aeroplane and Armament Experimental Establishment, AG837 was delivered to the Middle East for operational service.
