Eastern Finland Helicopter Service in cooperation with Aeroflot opened a charter line between Joensuu and Petrozavodsk in February 1992. How many flights and with which helicopters there were actually flights is unknown, but at the 1993 aviation event there were three helicopters with company texts. Air Karelia's text is a bigger mystery. The operator with that name was in Finland, but its license had been revoked in 1989. Whether this possibly refers to a company on the Russian side is unknown.
