One of three Pumas built 1978 for the Prefectura Naval Argentina, PA-11 was badly damaged during a storm at the Mar del Plata airshow Aerplata 97 when it hit a P-3B. It was sent to France to be repaired and returned in 1999, only to be lost on 20th March 2000 when it ditched in the Atlantic 200kms in heavy seas off the coast during the evacuation of fishing boat 'Fueguino'. Sister-ship PA-12 was captured during the Falklands/Malvinas War and rebuilt as Puma HC.1 ZE449 This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
