This 707, FMS serial 68-11074 (first flight 6 Nov'68, is former Luftwaffe FBS BMVg serial 10+04 (del 18 Nov'68). Withdrawn 4 Nov'96. Stored Hamburg. Flown to Naples on 13 Jul'98 for modification. It arrived at Geilenkirchen in Dec'99 with the NAEW&CF as LX-N20000. Used by NATO as a trainer for E-3 crews and relieved the operational AWACS fleet in training flights. It received USAF designation CT-49A in Dec'03. On 26 Sep'11, the NATO said goodbye to the venerable aircraft when it was flown over to Ingolstadt Manching (Germany).
