This 707, FMS serial 68-11074 (first flight 6 Nov'68, is former Luftwaffe FBS BMVg serial 10+04 (del 18 Nov'68). Withdrawn 4 Nov'96. Stored Hamburg. Flown to Naples on 13 Jul'98 for modification. It arrived at Geilenkirchen in Dec'99 with the NAEW&CF as LX-N20000. Used by NATO as a trainer for E-3 crews and relieved the operational AWACS fleet in training flights. It received USAF designation CT-49A in Dec'03. On 26 Sep'11, the NATO said goodbye to the venerable aircraft when it was flown over to Ingolstadt Manching (Germany). Since then, the airframe is in use as a ground trainer.

One of five former NAEW&CF B707TCAs, contrary to USAF standards not redesignated CT-49A by NATO. This was the only still one in existence at the upload date, an instructional airframe here since September 2011. It was one of two former Luftwaffe machines in this role, the other three were ex SABENA 707s.

This is former German Air Force 1004, which was taken over by NATO in 1998. In 2011, it was withdrawn from use and since then has been in use as an instructional airframe at Manching/Ingolstadt.

Built in 11.68 for the German AF as Boeing 707-307C 10-04. Bought by NATO in 07.98 and operated by their AEW & CF.

Seen as it turns onto the runway, with the threshold markings reflected in the fuselage, this was one of two similar aircraft present the same day.
