One year after delivery to Air Canada in 1968, the airline provided this DC-8 as 6Y-JGC (and three DC-9s) to enable Air Jamaica begin service. Air Canada owned 40% of the new airline until it sold it's shares in 1980. Returning to Air Canada in 1973, the aircraft was withdrawn in 1983. Leased to Saudia Arabian Airlines for two months and then stored, it was sold to UAS Leasing as N24UA in 1986. Converted to a freighter, it was leased to VIASA Cargo, American International Airways and Arrow Air until stored at Greenville, MS in 1999 and later scrapped.
