A regular visitor to Europe in the early 1970s. Converted from Convair 340 N270E in 1963 while owned by Englehard Industries. Re-registered N278E in July 1967 and sold soon afterwards, operating for various companies becoming N331G in November 1967. Leased and later bought by Forbes and registered as N60FM in May 1970, flying as such until replaced by a DC9 in 1973. Later registered as N8500 and N30EG, the aircraft spent time with the Mid Atlantic Air Museum at Reading PA. before being sold in Canada as C-GSKJ for conversion to an airtanker. It crashed at La Ronge, Saskatchewan in May 2006. This photo was added on 24 November 2024, and has since been viewed 133 times. |
