This Yak-50 was built in 1975 but had only 156 hours since new when it was sent back to the factory for complete overhaul in Russia. It emerged in December 1999 to be declared a 'zero time' overhaul. In 2015 the aircraft was further refitted/upgraded with new avionics and, after recertification in France, was exported to California. It is pictured in the Commemorative Air Force, SoCal Wing hangar but, despite being outfitted a a high technical standard, has problems that mean it is no-longer airworthy.
