The Seafang was a navalised Spiteful. The initial production model was the F.31 but only nine of the 150 ordered were built. In addition two of the F.32 version, with contra-rotating props, were built. The Fleet Air Arm preferred the Sea Fury as its fleet fighter because of its better low-speed handling.
