Ditched off USS Sable, Lake Michigan, Sept. 14, 1944. Recovered from Lake Michigan by USNAM, 1991. Restored at NAS Pensacola, FL, 1991-2004. Loaned to the National Museum of the Air Force, Wright-Patterson AFB, painted as an A-24 but transferred to Chicago Midway in 2004. Repainted as SBD Dauntless B-3 piloted by Ensign Frederick T. Weber from VB-6 aboard USS Enterprise (CV-6) during the Battle of Midway on June 4, 1942. This photo is copyright © Gordon Riley, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
