The first production Petrel from 1939 and one of only 3 built. Part of the contingent from the Vintage Glider Club, some of which participated in the Display on the following day. Allocated BGA418 in June 1947. To G-ALNP in April 1949 when the MoCA decreed that all sailplanes should receive Class A registrations, only for this decree to be rescinded around July 1950 (and revived in 2007!). Reverted to BGA418. To the USA in 2002. Eventually to the Western Antique Aeroplane & Automobile Museum in Oregon. Totally rebuilt and flew again in June 2017. Believed current in 2024.
