This Intruder was delivered to the USN in 1965 as A-6A. In 1974 it was converted to A-6E. From 1980 until 1988, the aircraft was stored at MASDC. In 1988, Grumman brought the aircraft back to life. It served with VA-34 until 1995. In that year, it finally was wfu and prepared for display at the USS Midway. On this side, the aircraft wears VMA(AW)-224 markings (the Intruder was with this unit in 1967). On the opposite side it has VA-115 markings (the markings it had when it went to MASDC in 1980).
