After its service with the USN ended, this Corsair went to the Honduras Air Force as FAH618. It was active there from 1960 until 1978. In 1979, the aircraft was shipped back to the USA. The rear end was used to restore Corsair 81857. The remainder of the aircraft was restored using the rear end of 97059. From 2006 until 2009, the aircraft was further restored by the USS Midway museum, where it was put on display in November 2009 in VMF-225 markings (this unit deployed their Corsairs to the USS Midway in 1952). Civil registration N86434 was allocated in 2016. This photo is copyright © Jonathan Verschuuren, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
