This was the first active R6D-1, delivered with Donald Douglas Sr. aboard in 1951. Converted to R6D-1Z in 1954/55 so redesigned as VC-118B in 1962. While serving VR-21 and VC-1 between 1955 and 1983, used as VIP transport for the CinC Pacific Fleet.
