Photographer R.A. London - Delivered as C-135B and assigned to 1501st Air Transport Wing (MATS), Travis AFB, CA. 1965: Converted to WC-135B and assigned to 56th Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, 9th Weather Reconnaissance Wing, Yokota AB, Japan. Crashed on runway at Yokota AB in 1970 due to jamming of elevator trim motor. Aircraft was repaired. Returned to USAF after conversion to C-135B. 1974: Converted to C-135C staff transport. Assigned to 15th Air Base Wing, Hickam AFB, HI. This photo was added on 12 January 2025, and has since been viewed 111 times. |
