London - Delivered as C-135B and assigned to 1501st Air Transport Wing (MATS), Travis AFB, CA. 1965: Converted to WC-135B and assigned to 56th Weather Reconnaissance Squadron, 9th Weather Reconnaissance Wing, Yokota AB, Japan. Crashed on runway at Yokota AB in 1970 due to jamming of elevator trim motor. Aircraft was repaired. Returned to USAF after conversion to C-135B. 1974: Converted to C-135C staff transport. Assigned to 15th Air Base Wing, Hickam AFB, HI.

Aircraft was being used by CinC PACAF (Pacific Air Force).

Quite possibly one of the most beautiful aircraft in the USAF inventory at the time, the C-135C "Speckled Trout" from the 412th TW, Edwards AFB, seen here at RIAT 1999, now sadly, retired.

Built as a C-135B and conveetred to WC-135B in 1965 and to C-135C in 1974, then being used as personal transport for the AF Chiefs of Staff and also command & control tests under the 'Speckled Trout' mission; retired at Edwards 2.06 and later ferried to Lackland AFB, TX for ground instructional use
