This F-80C, actually 49-0432, is marked as 49-713 of 16th FIS/51st FIG, Kimpo, Korea, as flown by Lt. RJ Brown when he downed a MiG-15 in the first all-jet air battle on 8 Nov1950. Interestingly the true identity was added in small figures under the tailplane. 49-0432 was based at Elmendorf Field, AK with 66th FS/57th FG when in April 1951 it force landed after engine failure. With the 29th TS/452nd TBG at Long Beach, CA it was damaged in a mid-air collision in March 1955. Sold to Uruguayan AF as 218 in August 1958 and returned to US in 1970.
