This F-80C, actually 49-0432, is marked as 49-713 of 16th FIS/51st FIG, Kimpo, Korea, as flown by Lt. RJ Brown when he downed a MiG-15 in the first all-jet air battle on 8 Nov1950. Interestingly the true identity was added in small figures under the tailplane. 49-0432 was based at Elmendorf Field, AK with 66th FS/57th FG when in April 1951 it force landed after engine failure. With the 29th TS/452nd TBG at Long Beach, CA it was damaged in a mid-air collision in March 1955. Sold to Uruguayan AF as 218 in August 1958 and returned to US in 1970. My 1979 photo as 90432 here

This F-80 was later repainted to represent the aircraft which shot down a MiG-15 in the world's first all-jet fighter air battle during the Korean War in November 1950, as per my 2024 photo

Shooting Star J-342 today sits safe and sound under the roof of the Sala de Reactores (jet hangar), but in 1997 it was still sun bathing. It was formally taken on charge on 19 August 1958 by Grupo 7, went on to Grupo 12 and was withdrawn from use in 1973. After spending some time as gate guard at El Bosque it was displayed at the inaugural FIDA (now FIDAE) held at El Bosque in 1980 celebrating FACh's 50th birthday. It moved to Los Cerillos in the mid-eighties.

T-33A 58-0505 posing as a single seat F-80C, the second seat has been removed and the canopy has been taken from an F-80 model. It first appeared here in June 1993.

In storage for the museum, F-80C 213 is seen here at Carrasco.

Ex 47-0217, delivered on 5 March 1958 and retired by the Colombian air force in 1966. It was first reported with the museum at El Dorado in 1982.

This is actually P-80C USAF s/n 47-1392 marked as P-80B 45-8607. This was one of several non flying static display a/c maintained by the Texas Air National Guard at Hensley Field. When the base closed this P-80 was moved to Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, TX. where it is now on display.

Ex-USAF 47-217. The museum reopened at a new location in Parque Jaime Duque, Tocancipá in 2017.

F-80C Shooting Star ex USAF 47-0205 which served with No. 2 Fighhter Group of the Uruguayan Air Force. Displayed in the Museo Aeronautico in Montevideo.

This F-80C is one of the few remaining Shooting Stars that flew combat missions during the Korean War. Restored and painted as it was in 1950 while assigned to the 8th Fighter-Bomber Group and now on display at the National Museum of the USAF in 1979.
