The Mi-24 was delivered to Sri Lanka in considerable numbers. The gunships were intensively used in the internal conflict on the island nation which ended in 2009. As a dedicated memory, this example has been preserved with the excellent Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) museum in Ratmalana. This particular example was delivered to Sri Lanka from Ukraine in 1995-1997.
