Its homebase Gando was the scene of exercise Ocean Sky 2023. F/A-18A C.15-82 with code 46-10 is operated by Ala 46, Esc 462 and can be seen here against the ocean backdrop when it returned from a late afternoon mission. This FY83 US Navy F/A-18A-16-MC with BuNo Bu162456 was delivered to the US Marine Corps 1987. It was sold to Spain and delivered on 27 August 1996. It was assigned to Grupo 21 and then moved to Ala 11. In 2001, the Hornet was flown back to the States, NAD North Island (CA) for an extensive overhaul and was redelivered to Gando on 5 November 2001.
