First of two Actives built by Messrs Thornton & Oddy of the Arrow Aircraft Company, Leeds. This was its first public demonstration, pilot was Flt Lt C.B.Wincott. Written off (destroyed) 30 Dec 1935 when it crashed in flames at Marshchapel, East Lindsay, eleven miles south east of Grimsby, Lincolnshire following an engine fire while performing aerobatics. Pilot/owner Alex Henshaw bailed out safely, although he had to "dodge" the Arrow Active as it spiralled into the ground on fire, the aircraft at one point crossing Henshaw's descent path.
