A squadron exchange with four RF-104Gs of the 3°Stormo with one of the RAF Laarbruch squadrons took place in October 1987. Here 3-16 is pictured in landing to the RAF Germany base. MM6540 was withdrawn from use by 1995 and was moved between several dump locations, first Trapani-Birgi, then at Amendola, again Trapani and then its fuselage was seen with the Autodemolizioni F.
