Originally delivered to Mohawk Airlines August 17, 1967, Allegheny Airlines bought the regional carrier in 1972 and merged their fleets. The BAC 111s soldiered on and N1122J is pictured in a new color scheme introduced in 1977. The airline would re-brand as US Air in 1978 as it expanded during deregulation. This aircraft was traded to McDonnell Douglas in 1989 and stored until sold to Kabo Air in 1991 and broken up for parts.
