Nov 37: Rolled out of factory as 7W-12, registered to Spartan Aircraft Company, Tulsa, OK, as NC17613. After 2 more owners, in Feb 1942 it was purchased by Defense Supplies Corporation, Washington, DC for impressment into USAAF service. 16 Mar '42: TOS USAAF as UC-71 42-38265. Used as a staff transport. Jul 44: Returned to civil use. Several owners until Jan '82 purchased by MarJon Realty (Peter Hawks, son of movie producer Howard Hawks), San Carlos, CA.
