The powerful Yak-11 was in service with the Bulgarian AF from 1948 until 1963 and was used to train pilots on conversion to jet aircraft. This particular example served with the Air Force Academy 'G. Benkovski' at Shtraklevo air base (now Ruse (LHRS)) and was donated to the museum in February 1993. This photo is copyright © Alastair T.
