Having received the all clear, C-GGPW departs Edmonton's downtown Municipal airport (now closed). The aircraft was delivered to Pacific Western Airlines on November 10, 1978. Re-named Canadian Airlines after merging with CP Air in 1987, it carried through a merger with Air Canada in 2001 only to be retired in October 2001. Stored at Vancouver, BC and later Mojave, CA , it was acquired by the Federal Aviation Administration and ferried to Atlantic City, NJ on November 6, 2002. It remains at the FAA's William J. Hughes Technical Center for research purposes. This photo is copyright © Gary Vincent, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
