A view of RAF Cardington taken from Airship Industries Skyship 600 G-SKSC on my wife's birthday in 1990. In the top RH corner are the famous Airship sheds from which the R101 set out on her ill fated maiden voyage to India on October 4th 1930. Cardington has no runway; airships were launched from a field adjacent to the sheds just out of picture.
