Known as the 'Whispering Giant' the Britannia was the world's first long range turbo-prop transport aircraft. Originally delivered to BOAC, and subsequently with British Eagle, and finally Monarch Airlines, who after its final passenger service on October 14th 1974, presented VT to the Duxford Aviation Society and it was flown into Duxford in June 1975.
