Subbing on a Thomas Cook flight, a welcome visitor to Glasgow as Tristars are rarely seen these days.

Delivered to TAP Air Portugal March 8, 1983, this L1011 was leased to Tajikistan International Airlines for only a very short time before being taken back by TAP. Continuing leases to a multitude of airlines over the next 15 years until retiring in 2010 made it the last L1011 operating in Europe.

I recently had the pleasure of photographing this much-loved machine in its current Euro Atlantic colours, but there are literally hundreds of images of her in those colours on the net, so here's something different.
