The museum acquired this aircraft in 1983, and for some years it was their flying Neptune N45309. It was last seen flying as such in the late 1980s. The Neptune was withdrawn from the warbird circuit and became a static display item at the museum, as seen here.

This aircraft made a few flights for the museum in the early 1990's but was grounded after the fuel system was contaminated followed by an engine failure.

This aircraft was airworthy and flew to many airshows in the early to mid-1990's. Its been grounded for quite a while and mildew has started to form on the vertical stabilizer.

Former USN BuN 50819 on display at the Mid Atlantic Air Museum. Aircraft needs one of its engine replaced.

The Custer CCW-5 was designed to give STOL performance by the pusher engines pulling air through the wing 'channels'. This worked OK, but the extra drag caused by the aircraft's layout cancelled out the benefits. It was intensively tested between 1953 and the 1970s, but no production orders were secured. Now preserved by the MAAM at Reading, PA.
