Ex RAF X7523. Caspair was the charter company run by Captain Caspareuthus who had been a flying-boat captain with Imperial and BOAC

c/n 6874 was sold off later to Caspair and written off in the Congo 1961

In 2014 I spent several days on the ramp at Entebbe in heavy rains. This IL-76 is taking off in front of Lake Victoria.

Just of the main entry road to the Entebbe International airport, is a little side road leading to the Aero Beach Club. Party place on the shores of Lake Victoria. The garden is filled with remains from the airport across the road. Objects include this former British Airtours Boeing 707 G-APFL, which became 5X-CAU with Coastal Airways in 1981, but was never operated as such. Not now in the best state of preservation however.

Objects include this former Alitalia Caravelle I-DABA, which became 9Q-CRU with Afro Cargo in 1980 and was stored at Entebbe in 1985. Not now in the best state of preservation however.

A venture onto the terminal roof service area gave this view of the famous Alliance SP which served SAA's Uganda/Tanzania/Rwanda joint op 1995-99, just in from LHR. After return to SAA, this 1976 machine was scrapped at JNB in 10.02. Behind, an Inversija IL-76 is being pushed back using its special tow-bar, with Lake Victoria visible beyond. On final over the lake, we had a major bird-strike which took out engine no.3, so I had to wait all day for another SP to ferry up from JNB before going on to DAR
