This aircraft owned by Ratioflug was seconded to the UN mission (ONUCA) in Central America from late 1989 to mid-1991.

Located in the National Park Tortuguero, this is by far one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited in my life. Looking down runway 33, on the right side is the Caribbean Ocean, on the left is the canal with on the opposite side a couple of resorts. This airstrip isn't separated by anything and so I decided to drink my water on the middle of the runway, no problem at all! The airport is served in the mornings by a Twin Otter, but haven't gotten it on photo as I was too busy photographing baby turtles!

With the Panamanian Air Force from 1978 to 1988, then sold to Scenic Airlines.

C-123B 54-663 converted to C-123K. It was initially preserved at Howard AFB, Canal Zone. Later at Costa Verde Hotel and Resort in San Jose, Costa Rica. In 2016, was serving as a bar and restaurant called "El Avion" in Quepos, Costa Rica, on Manuel Antonio Hill. According to the restaurant, this was one of the two C-123's used during the Iran-Contra affair in 1986

With TACA tail colours and leased from Aeroperlas Panama.

Built for the RCAF in 1943, this Canso had many civil identities in the US, Central and South America after 1946. Used by the CIA as a communications ship during "Bay of Pigs" invasion of Cuba in April 1961, it also appeared in the 1969 movie Tora, Tora, Tora. The seaplane is pictured awaiting the attention of new owner Troya SA to be registered TG-BIV. On January 5, 1994, the aircraft had an engine failure during delivery to New Zealand. Diverting to Christmas Island and unable to maintain altitude it ditched in the Pacific Ocean and sank several hours after the crew took to the life raft.

With this large 'Musica sin fronteras' (Music without borders) title, Aeromexico 737 XA-AME was a nice catch while waiting for our flight back home.

SANSA, the Costa Rican wing of TACA, but leased from Aeroperlas in Panama and still with their registration. At one of the many little airstrips around the country, just large enough for passenger operation with Caravans and Twin Otters.

First generation 737

Every morning tourists are flown in at the little airstrip of Tortuguero National Park. The strip is only a few meters from the beach where the large turtles nest.
